Based on feedback and new requirements, the career module (xcareer), which is used on the career.seyfor.com career website, has been modified. These are rather minor adjustments and corrections, not noticeable at first glance from the user's point of view.
Update of the general form
The following modifications have been made to make the form easier to understand for those applying for an open position:
- the "Location" field will no longer be mandatory
- the label for the "Location" field will be changed to "Preferred work location" – there was a misunderstanding of what was meant by location
added a note from the "CV" and "Linkedin Profile" fields to indicate that at least one of these documents is required.
Modification of job filtering mechanics
A filtering mechanic of the vacant positions listing has been prepared based on the original assignment. Based on the recent user testing feedback, the filtering behavior was changed.
Original behaviour
- When selecting one of the filtering parameters (division, location, industry, etc.), the available values of the other parameters were updated. From the user point of view, the spinning wheel was visible, from the application point of view, the dropdown form fields for the filtering were redrawn via an AJAX request. However, only the filtering box was updated, the list of positions remained the same.
- After selecting all the required parameters, it was necessary to confirm the filtering using the button, after which the position listing was updated. The updated position list took into account the filtering parameters.
New behaviour
- In order to meet the expectation that the spinning wheel was causing from the user's point of view, the call for filtering parameter selection was extended.
- Now, every time the filtering is modified, the list of available positions is updated.
- Everything is now dynamic, with no final confirmation required.
Update availability
The update of the xcareer module, and therefore the propagation of the changes to the production environment, will take place on Thursday 21 September 2023 in the morning.
