This update brings improvements to the user setup of popups.
What's included in the update:
- Site-wide popup,
- Change the parameter input for the popup link,
- The ability to set the length of the popup redisplay
Site-wide popup
New option for the popup window to create a View on pages with the "Full Site" type. The popup will be displayed on every page of the site. In order to avoid redundant situations, whenever you create or edit a view on a page with a site-wide type, all other views that are linked to that popup will be deleted.
Changing the parameter settings for the popup link
As part of this modification, the input for the link parameters was changed. Previously, the parameters were entered as plain text.
Now they are entered separately, and a key (parameter) and parameter value can always be entered. The name field contains a whisperer for the most commonly used names for analytics - utm_source, utm_campaign, utm_medium, utm_term, utm_content. Custom parameters can also be added, which can then be measured in GA/GTM.
The parameter can be easily deleted. The configuration is clearer and faster.
Possibility to set the length of the pop-up window hiding by user.
The input "Period of re-display" has been added. If the popup is closed by the visitor, it will only be redisplayed after the selected period of time has elapsed. The system will store the information in the browser cookie (in anonymous mode the redisplay function will not be active). You can now select the options for reappearance:
- Every time the page is loaded
- 1 day
- 1 week
- 2 weeks
- 1 month
- 1 year
- Never (10 years)
Existing popups already created will default to 2 weeks, as they were before.
Update availability
The update is available with the upgrade of module: xpopup to version 4.2. All sites that have the xpopup module installed will receive the update.
